2021 Rethink the Comfort of Seating in High Schools

Role: Submitted as part of application to Hyper Island school.

This and another call to solve a problem have peaked my interest in design thinking. I applied to a program at Hyper Island which requires an answer (aka Application Task) to Out With The Old School - “pick one shortcoming in education and redesign it.” The goal is so students “can become more engaged, curious or stimulated.”

I propose to reevaluate and improve the comfort of seating in high schools (also applicable to many other grades).

I really enjoyed this project for the problem-solving aspect. It’s all about providing good user experience, just like good product designs do, no matter physical objects or digital platforms.
